The American Vay
Hey ya'll. Whazzup. How ya doin? I was driving home from work tonight feeling mighty American, stuffing my face with McD junk, talking on my cell, and changing radio stations while stearing the car with my knees, looking forward to Thanksgiving. Nothing's more American than Thanksgiving. As a Norwegian I feel honored that ya'll (see, I'm a real Texan cowgirl, dreaming of riding into the sunset with W) every year celebrate the day the Vikings introduced turkey to the Native Americans. The fact that most Turks are Muslims, and most Americans think Muslims are bad guys doesn't seem to matter on this day of...eating... Everyone loves Turkey. I think this year, though, we might have Iraq stuffed with bush instead of Turkey stuffed with stuffing...and stuff. Anyway, so I was driving home, like, you know, totally listening to the radio, feeling super American---until I caught myself singing along to "Valking in a Vinter Vonderland". I feel Norvegian again now. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
